This is a life-saving hospital. It deserves more than 5 . The ENTIRE staff are friendly, helpful, & caring. My grandson was 2 months old when he was admitted to the CICU. My daughter was a 1st time Mom, single and scared. She stayed there 24/7. They made certain that she had plenty to eat in between our visit with her. We were all included in his treatment. They broke down the diagnosis and treatment. And exactly how dire the situation was. When the discussion of his open heart surgery came, the ENTIRE family: Mom, Grandparents, Great Grandparents, Aunts, & Uncles, were included in conference. The day of the surgery, we were given updates throughout the entire time via an app. That was really a big relief. Knowing everything was fine, he was doing great, surgery was done.The cafeteria has a good choice for whatever you happen to be in the mood for. The cheese fries are really good ! The Ronald McDonald House is there if you need to get your laundry done. They have the supplies for you. As well as toiletries for your showering needs. You can also grab a snack and a drink while you're there.The Garden was one of our favorite places. It was relaxing. Just sitting outside in the swing. I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about this hospital!
I came in because I had a lung infection. The nurses and doctors did everything they could to help me, and I couldnt have been happier with the experience!!
The ER sent my sister home w/ear infection and no medicine. Then the primary doctor said she could've die because the infection had spreaded. Just take your child to Cardinal Glennon!!!
Awful hospital !!! My 16 year old was takin by ambulance from farmington with possible appendicitis. She was takin to farmington by her step mom for server pain and swelling in the upper left side of her stomach , farmington did a CT and said everything looked ok other then her appendix was swellon and had fluid around it so transferred her to Stl children's or for some (Barns Jewish children's ) . when I got the call First thing I said was well Barn children's is a good hospital had 2 niece's born here I at 6m gestation and the other jaundice both viva c-section. I rushed to get a sitter for my 2 other kids and called in to work then rushed to be with my daughter's side. She was in the emergency department when I arrived. They looked over her CT and blood from farmington then said they would admit her but they didn't think she would need surgery. When we got to her room . the nurse said they need to give ha a sterile bath in Cass she needed surgery but the doc had already said she wouldn't . the next morning we asked what was going on they said they weren't worried about appendicitis . Ok so what about the original compliant bc her pain and swelling was on her left (not right side), upper( not mid or lower) . they say we are waiting to see if her pain increase. All she had for pain was Tylenol. We had been there 12 HR . they wouldn't let her eat and she hasn't had food at this point for 3 day bc when she would eat she would eat 3 bites then say she couldn't eat . so we asked when she could eat bc we have now had 3 doctors say they didn't believe it was appendicitis. But they still said no food or drink by mouth. When I would say something they would say they can't in case she would need surgery. ON WHAT !!! they had already said No Appendicitis. Then I said ok what about her original complaint bc all they seem to want to talk about her appendix and her pain was no where near it. They say we are trying to figure it out. How they had done on new blood work no ultrasound nothing everything they went off of was sent with my 16 year old from farmington they did none of there own test not a one. And she still got discharged not knowing anything. We was there for 3 days my daughter didn't eat or drink got no pain relief and no answers. We had even more issues but my phone's going to die so I can't get into it all. I will say the male charge nurse on the surgical floor is a very rude , disrespectful human.
Awesome staff.Everyone from doctors, nurses, students,housekeeping did whatever they could to help make our stay as comfortable as possible.Not one staff member EVER left our room without asking if we were in need of anything.They were not only professional but very kind,caring and compassionate at the same time.Thank you and may God bless you all.
