I came in today at 12:29pm and it's now 3:26pm and i've still have yet to see anyone. This is ridiculous. You go to restaurants and get out faster than this.... Emergency department??????? They move like it's just a regular routine not an emergency..... Waiting and waiting and waiting.
Horrible...told the abulance that I wanted to go to SSM....dropped me off there after a seizure. Waited in the waiting room for over 2 hours while some drug addicts got some free food and drinks. Was not waited on until I had a second seizure in the waiting room; and they cut my front tooth in half and cracked my left canine in half...worthless...wish I could give less than 1 star.
We had to wait there for 9 hours before they even ordered the surgery. They were completely understaffed and the one doctor that they did have, disappeared for HOURS and left the nurses just scrambling and trying to figure out what to do. Additionally, the security there is terrible. I left a few times to get some air or go to the vending machine, and since I had already walked through once, I didn't have to go through the metal detector again. I wasn't doing anything I shouldn't been doing, but that just didn't sit well with me. What if someone went out to their car and got a gun or drugs or something else they shouldn't and brought it into the hospital? That's a liability and need to seriously reconsidered. Now he is in a normal room in a different part of the hospital, but the Emergency Department is one big joke.
9 hours in the ER and all they did was verify the diagnosis from the other hospital. Left with no answers and still in pain.
9/15/2018 went to the emergency room bad upper back pain that went from the back to the left front of my body and I felt like I was burning inside. Arrived at the emergency room had to check in pass security. Security was nothing but kind and very friendly. Entered the emergency room it was very clean because those who junk up and trash the emergency room and then blog about how nasty it was had not arrived yet. LOL. I was greeted by this Asian woman very professional and very welcoming. Reception took my info 10 minutes later a nurse took more info. 10 minutes later the same nice Asian lady took me to a room in the back. From the time I entered the emergency room I felt nothing but respect and concern to get me the help I needed. Once in the back I was there about twenty minutes Dr. Stickles came in spoke to me and asked me what bought me there he was very friendly very professional and very concerned for me as a patient. The other staff people in the back where very professional as they worked everyone had a pleasant smile. After Dr. Stickles left about 20 minutes later Nurse David came in took blood etc. He was very nice, respectful, showed concern very helpful and very professional I was there for more than 4 hours and it was ok because I was in good Godly hands "AND" I understood others were in need to see the doctor as well. The point I am making is people are so quick to judge others and not see the damn log hanging from their own eyes of faults. Barnes-Jewish emergency is a great hospital and I do understand you have those days not just in hospitals but in everyday life where things just go sideways. I recommend Barnes-Jewish emergency room. I am black and I was helped by white people who treated me as a patient in need not as a color or a bad habit. And I checked in with welfare insurance not some well-known high price private insurance. Its always best to check yourself before you are so quick to say harsh things. Its always easier to see bad verses good in any situations. If you find that the services are not up to your standard one things you are left with to do. Leave and find a more perfect place to get your emergency need. Understand this, when I arrived it was about twenty people in the emergency room and it was before noon yet. Sometimes this makes a different and also different things can prevent one from receiving the fast/quick services they think they should receive. If you feel like you are dying dont call 911 or go to Barnes-Jewish emergency room because you may have to wait in line behind the seven people who arrived before you that feel like they are dying too. Call whatever deity you believe in and request your favorite undertaker or you can just simple go to another hospital or wait and learn to be patient. Sometimes there are more people sick and in pain then there are beds available in the back and Jesus is not the great physician on staff so be patience with the doctor on staff it maybe just that one doctor. So waiting maybe the only option you have and because you have a long wait doesn't mean the nurses and doctors dont care. Just remember pray, have much patience and keep those who serve us in prayer and I hope all of you who have had bad experiences at any emergency room find the comfort you so need or needed.
