I am shocked and appalled at how my younger brother was treated at this hospital. He got mugged and beat horribly - the ER staff and nurses were totally unsympathetic, unhelpful, and down-right rude. They didn't even bandage him or clean him up! He had a fractured orbital, black eye, bleeding from his ear and a cut above his eye, 6 chipped teeth and was knocked unconscious with a concussion. After he woke up, he was in alot pain and very groggy- a nurse walked in and simply says "your released" and walks out. Thats it- no other information! He didnt know where he was or where to go or what to do. His face was still covered in blood! He couldn't open one eye, it was sealed shut, and he was having trouble seeing out of the other eye. He stumbled around the ER, first asking where the bathroom was, then where he was supposed to go. His wallet was stolen but they did not take his phone fortunately, but the battery was dead. He asked the staff if he could please just charge his phone so he could call an Uber back to the Hilton hotel no would let him. They never even asked for his emergency contact or if there was someone they could call. He didnt even know where he was or how far the hotel was, and he was having trouble thinking straight. He wandered out of the hospital not knowing what to do. He asked several people for directions, and eventually three police officers saw him, still bloody and black and stumbling. He asked them to please help him get back to his hotel, and thankfully they personally took him there! They asked him why the hospital didnt call the police to have a report filed, and he had no idea. They filed a report and one officer said he would be on the investigation himself. They were able to pull some video tape and talk to the person who dialed 911. Im more angry at the hospital staff than the people who mugged him. They didnt help him at all. They literally kicked him out with nothing, not a single iota of help. All he needed was to charge his phone or make a phone call - just a small little bit of sympathy from someone that wouldnt have cost them anything. Instead they treated him horribly! They were impatient, rude, annoyed that he was asking to charge his phone and for directions. Just unrealunreal!
This the most filthy and overcrowded ER I have ever seen. Most "patients" in the ER waiting room were all waiting for a prescription for their "pain pills". Every one int he waiting room wears a blood pressure arm band...like its standard to walk in and slap that on and take a seat. Some people had said they had been there for 18+ hours! In the WAITING ROOM! Did I mention how filthy it was? After your wait to actually get into the ER itself, it is packed with patients laying in chairs, rooms and hallways! It's no wonder the staff is stressed and not always helpful. Never ever again, under any circumstances will I visit this hospital.
My Doctor sent me here for some tests. 1st of all getting in here is like the zoo and parking is just as worse then to get in the building and you have to go through a check in process which I guess maybe I had a new person because there was two other people that walked back there at the same time as me and I was the last one still sitting there waiting to come up here my appointment was at 9:30 I didn't get up here to be seen until 952 so check in down there took that long then I get up here on the third floor and I have to check in again up here same question that was asked downstairs same questions ask up here it kind of doesn't make sense now I'm late for the appointment and I hate being late when I got here on time early I don't think I just have the patience to be in doctor's office with all these different people germs NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE
My son was hit by a car and seriously injured. The care he received from the ED staff and everyone working on 6 South was excellent. The entire staff was helpful, kind and answered all of our questions. Our family was treated with respect and greeted with smiles. Thank you for your hard work and caring hearts.
